This is our moment! Private refugee resettlement has been a game-changer, allowing communities across the country to work together to welcome a refugee family to their community. Generous private funders have taken notice and have created the Sponsor Fund to support these community efforts.

The Sponsor Fund is now covering 60% of the initial financial requirement needed to apply for sponsoring a refugee family. This means that newly formed Neighborhood Support Teams (NSTs) will receive $1,455 per refugee welcomed. This funding gives you a huge head start in welcoming a new family to your community and can help with things like securing housing and basic necessities like furniture, household goods, groceries, clothing and more.

Private Resettlement:
A Community Approach

A Neighborhood Support Team is a group of about 10-20 volunteers who work together to welcome a refugee family into their community. They work collaboratively to fundraise and coordinate housing, education, employment, benefits, and more to ensure self-sufficiency for the new family.

WelcomeNST is here to help you. We provide:

  • An experienced, dedicated mentor to guide you throughout the process

  • Direct connection to other team leaders who have experience resettling families and can answer questions, brainstorm ideas and solutions and provide advice

  • Access to other important resources like toolkits, checklists, training programs, partnerships like Airbnb and more

We know not everyone has time to volunteer with an NST, but we still need your help. We are 100% privately funded. Every dollar you donate will help us find, train, match and support one more NST that will offer refuge to one more refugee family.
